The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), a premier global management institute, signed an agreement with Nykaa, to set up the “Nykaa Chair in Consumer Technology” today. The partnership announcement was made today at the Institute’s campus by Professor Errol D’ Souza, Director, IIMA and Falguni Nayar, IIMA alumna and Founder & CEO, Nykaa. The Chair has been set up for an initial period of three years and has been facilitated by the IIMA Endowment fund.
Speaking about the importance and objective of this Research Chair, Professor Errol D’Souza, Director, IIMA said, “With advancements in technological innovations in the last decade, the nature of technology and its social-economic impact has significantly evolved. Consumer connectedness through virtual and augmented environments and increased usage of digital tools across cultures requires knowledge on aspects of consumer tech innovation. Through our partnership with Nykaa, we aim to work together on finding research solutions to some of the immediate, real-time questions in the consumer tech space. We look forward to bringing on board a talented, research focused individual to take up this position at the institute.”
The Chair will work closely with students of IIMA and faculty members from Marketing and Information Systems areas. The focus will be on research and education that will:
- promote scientific practice of marketing
- present insights on the impact of digital, social, and mobile technologies on business models, customer behavior, and social changes at large
- facilitate incorporation of AI and machine learning insights in a disrupted marketplace.
- deploy economic and statistical models to measure the role of the Internet and new media on consumer and firm behavior
- understand the privacy-preserving future of digital advertising
IIMA has already established Centres of Excellence in new age areas in technology such as Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT) and Brij Disa Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CDSAI). The Chair will also work closely with faculty members associated with these Centres and will enable multi-disciplinary research and generate insights that will help shape strategy, influence policy, and benefit the entire consumer technology sector in India.

Microsoft and LinkedIn engage 7.3 million learners in India through Skills for Jobs program, to help 10 million people learn digital skills
Will provide free access to 350 courses, six new Career Essentials Certificates, and 50,000 LinkedIn Learning Scholarships
Microsoft and LinkedIn announced the next step in the Skills for Jobs program, providing free access to 350 courses and six new Career Essentials Certificates for six of the most in-demand jobs in the digital economy. Microsoft and LinkedIn will also be offering 50,000 LinkedIn Learning scholarships to help people get ahead in their skilling journey. By 2025, Microsoft will help train and certify 10 million people with skills for in demand jobs. Today’s launch builds on the Global Skills Initiative, which helped 80 million jobseekers around the world access digital skilling resources.
To date, Microsoft has engaged 14 million learners in Asia via LinkedIn, Microsoft Learn and non-profit skilling efforts. Of this, 7.3 million learners were from India. The top six LinkedIn Learning Pathways in India were: Critical Soft Skills, Software Developer, Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, Project Manager, and Customer Service Specialist.
Using data from LinkedIn and the Burning Glass Institute, Microsoft analyzed job listings to determine six of the roles in greatest demand for the program: Administrative Professional, Project Manager, Business Analyst, Systems Administrator, Software Developer or Data Analyst. The new courses and certificates will be offered in seven languages, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. This expansion builds on Microsoft’s commitment to supporting inclusive economic opportunity so learners around the world have equitable access to the skills, technology, and opportunity needed to succeed in a digitizing economy.

The new Career Essentials Certificates are designed to help learners bridge the gap from basic digital literacy to more advanced technical skills training and gain certifications that will be valuable to securing employment. Once a learning pathway is completed, learners will receive a LinkedIn badge to denote their certificate and indicate fluency in the skillset to employers.
All courses are available on LinkedIn at opportunity.linkedin.com. In addition, Microsoft-developed courses are also available on Microsoft Community Training (MCT) and in downloadable format for use on other Learning Management Systems (LMS) for nonprofit partners.
‘Push Sports’ students features prominently in Delhi U16 Selection Squad

Push Sports added another feather to its cap as it bagged three slots in the newly announced Under 16 Cricket Squad by Delhi. Sarthak Ray has been appointed the Vice Captain of the squad and he is joined by fellow PUSHERS Anindo Naharay and Harshvardhan Phogat among the 26 names announced by Delhi. The young cricketers will be representing Delhi U16 in the upcoming Vijay Merchant Trophy.
